Overview
Ceramic or regular? The difference is heat.
Darkness and heat rejection are not the same thing. A cheap dark film can leave your cabin just as hot as clear glass. Ceramic film rejects infrared heat regardless of how dark it looks.
Standard dyed film blocks visible light and provides privacy and glare reduction at a lower cost. It is a solid choice if appearance and privacy are the priority. Over time, lower-grade dyed films can fade toward purple and lose effectiveness.
Ceramic film uses non-metallic ceramic particles to reject infrared radiation, which is the part of sunlight you actually feel as heat. A light ceramic tint can outperform a much darker dyed film on temperature, which matters for a car parked outside all summer.
Because ceramic film contains no metal, it does not interfere with cell signal, GPS, keyless entry or radio reception the way older metalized films could.
Every film we install blocks the large majority of UV radiation, which protects your dashboard, seats and door panels from the cracking and fading that ages an interior faster than anything else.

Headlight & Taillight Tint.
Once the glass is done, the lights are what is left. Smoked lighting tightens the look of a vehicle more than almost anything else at the price.
There are two ways to smoke a light. One is a rattle can of tint spray. The other is precision-cut film. Only one of them is reversible and only one still looks right up close after a year.
Sprayed tint sits on the lens as a painted layer. It is permanent, it goes cloudy and blotchy over time, it yellows under UV, and it cannot be removed without stripping the lens. It is the reason a lot of smoked lights look cheap in daylight even when they look fine at night.
Film is a precision-cut layer applied to the lens surface. It comes off cleanly, so if you change your mind or need the factory look back for a sale or a lease turn-in, the lens underneath is untouched.
Shade is a real trade-off, not just a style choice. A light smoke tightens the look while keeping output essentially unchanged. Heavier shades look more aggressive but cut more light at night. We show you the difference on your own lenses before cutting anything.
Taillight Tint
The most common request and the biggest visual change. Smoked taillights tighten the entire rear end of the vehicle.

Cure Time

Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost?
If you park outside, commute in the sun or drive a car with a large glass roof, the difference in cabin temperature is immediately obvious. If you mostly want privacy and appearance, quality standard film does that job well.
How dark can I legally tint my windows in Connecticut?
Connecticut sets minimum light transmission percentages that differ between the windshield, front side windows and rear glass, and some vehicle types are treated differently. Because the rules and enforcement change, we review the current limits with you before installation and recommend confirming with the Connecticut DMV.
How long before I can roll my windows down?
Usually a few days, longer in cold or damp weather. Rolling a window down before the film has cured can pull the edge loose. We give you a specific timeframe at pickup.
Why does my new tint look hazy or cloudy?
A small amount of moisture stays trapped between the film and glass during curing and evaporates on its own. Light haze or small water pockets in the first days are normal and clear up. Bubbles that remain after curing are not, and we will address them.
Can you remove my old bubbling tint?
Yes. Old film and its adhesive are fully removed before new film is installed. Removal takes time to do without damaging rear-window defroster lines, so it is quoted separately.
Does tint interfere with my phone signal or GPS?
Ceramic and dyed films contain no metal and do not interfere with signal. Older metalized films could. If you have signal problems after a previous tint job, the film type is worth checking.
Is tinting headlights and taillights legal in Connecticut?

Does lighting tint reduce my light output?
Yes, every shade reduces output to some degree, which is exactly why shade selection matters. A light smoke is barely noticeable at night. A heavy smoke is very noticeable. We are upfront about this rather than just selling the darkest option.
Is lighting tint reversible?
Film is, which is why we use it. It removes cleanly and leaves the lens underneath as it was. Sprayed-on tint is not reversible and is the reason a lot of smoked lights end up cloudy and blotchy.
Can you remove tint a previous shop sprayed on?
Sometimes, but it is a different job than removing film. Sprayed tint has to be stripped from the lens surface and can leave the lens hazed. We assess it in person before quoting.
Can I tint only the taillights?
Absolutely, and it is the most common single-piece request. Taillights give the largest visual change for the smallest cost.
